What You Will Pay: Every Visitor Category
For non-residents, budget USD 100-200 per adult for each reserve entry day — USD 100 in low season (January-June) and USD 200 in high season (July-December).
This seasonal split took effect on 1 July 2025 - before that, through the 2024 season and the first half of 2025, non-resident adult entry was a flat USD 100 per day year-round - and it continues through the 2026 calendar year. Narok County publishes the official fee structure (PDF copies circulate online), so always re-verify against maasaimara.ke close to your travel date.
The important detail is that Maasai Mara entry is not a flexible 24-hour pass. Current sources describe it as a daylight entry ticket, normally 06:00 to 18:00, so a late arrival-day drive can be poor value unless the timing is genuinely worth it.
For Kitumo guests, the easiest way to budget is by full safari days: 2 nights usually means 1 reserve day, 3 nights means 2 reserve days, and 4 nights means 3 reserve days. Arrival-day half-day drives can be added when timing works.

Resident and citizen rates require the right ID, passport, work permit, or resident proof at the gate. We check the current Sekenani handling before final travel.
Do not mix up the vehicle costs
The reserve may charge a separate vehicle entry fee, depending on the vehicle category and gate handling. That is different from Kitumo's private game-drive vehicle and guide cost.
For a normal Kitumo quote, keep three lines separate: reserve entry fees, the private safari vehicle, and the transfer vehicle from Nairobi or the airstrip.
