It's called the Green Season because the short rains in November/December turn the savannah into a lush, emerald paradise. It's dramatically beautiful, photography is better, and the wildlife action is intense.

January through March is scientifically known as the "Calving Season". Thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes give birth during this time.
